Industrial Water Treatment Process

At Maple Grove Water Treatment Facility CDM Electric, Inc. is currently working on a 100% facility upgrade. Team partners are Consolidated Mutual Water Company, Malcolm Pirnie Engineering, & Hydro Construction. We are delivering a new 15 MGD treatment facility while maintaining the existing 10 MGD plant as a functioning source during construction. Through planning & partnering design build efforts we are able to overcome such obstacles as shutdowns, site & scheduling constraints. Having the ability to work as part of this team we are able to give the customer valuable ideas on electrical installations that have been field tested.
CDM Electric, Inc. continues to perform electrical expansions & upgrades at the Wellington Water Treatment Plant. To date we have provided a new electrical service to the plant, modification of flocculation and sedimentation basin and relocation of existing duct banks serving the site for the construction of a new clear well structure. We have also included electrical for the addition of two (2) new filter basins and updating their filter controls with one new filter control console for all four filters while maintaining full control of the plant. Due to the growth of the town we have provided electrical, instrumentation, & control of a new 40 hp influent pump station that is VFD controlled for better flow control for the plant. We have also provided electrical service for off site RO well treatment sites to help with water production for this fast growing community.
Our continuous work with the City of Fort Collins includes partnering design-build projects in connection with their Water Treatment Facility. Our work has involved but is not limited to the following:
~ Rebuilding (8) PLC to update equipment to reduce aged component failures & ease of getting replacement components
~ A 500 KVA backwash standby generator
~ Upgrade of (32) turbidity meters
~ Addition of a booster pump station housing (2) 100 HP pumps
~ Upgrading a PAC carbon feed system
~ Addition of a UV treatment system to the backwash water for recycling purposes
~ Addition of a new wet well pumping system for recycling the backwash water through(2) new variable frequency drive pumps

For (12) years, CDM Electric, Inc's personnel have been providing the Fort Collins Water Treatment Facility with solutions for complex electrical needs including an addition of two (2) new filter trains, a new chemical facility, a flow blending structure, a new Backwash pump station and completely upgraded the power distribution throughout the entire facility while maintaining full capacity of this (87) MGD facility.
